In the selection of a Female Miniature Cattle there are many attributes to consider because the
fact is that the Cow is a calving animal that can be a source to a whole line of cows if you decide to build a good looking herd. Of course she contributes 1/2 the genetics of the off spring and should be judged on her potential longevity, milk carrying capacity, genetically based
attitude, physical conformation. So, start or add the best possible cow or heifer you can. But even with a less than perfect female you can improve her "line" of offspring by the semen you breed her with, you can get and you will see your desires

Our Spring 2008 Round-Up is over and evaluations are in process. Our drought conditions are over and all life here breathes a good bit easier. Unlike our neighbors feeding grain and cubes, we didn't have to reduce our stock in either horses, goats nor cattle. In fact we added a Heritage Breed of Pig this year, the Red Wattle Hog.
